Morkipoo

The Morkipoo, also known as a Maltipoo Yorkie, Yorkiepoo Maltese, Morkie Doodle, and Yorkiepoomalt is a mixed breed. The Morkipoo is a mix of a Maltese, Yorkshire Terrier, and a Poodle. Generally the Morkipoo is bred with a Morkie (Maltese and Yorkshire Terrier), and a Poodle. This designer pup was developed to create a breed that would be friendly, loving, able to live in small spaces, as well as be a low shedder. They need and love to be with their human family, or they can suffer from separation anxiety. Resilient and adaptable, the Morkipoo is great for apartment dwellers, but they do have a tendency to be barkers if left alone too long. Early training and socialization is suggested to avoid bad behavior. They are great with children but not with very small children due to the breed being so fragile due to their size. Exercise is important, albeit not too much, 30-45 minutes a day and in small increments, because they tire easily. Snuggling on the couch or going for short walks, and the Morkipoo is happy and content. These little balls of fluff are very caring, easygoing, and loyal but sometimes can be stubborn. The Morkipoo can have a curly coat which would be similar to a Poodle, or a soft and silky coat like a Yorkie or Maltese. It all depends on what breed this specific pup would take after. They can be black, brown, tan, white or a combination of colors. Their coat does need constant grooming to avoid matting, and daily brushing is crucial. Professional grooming is advisable every 6 weeks, and between visits their nails trimmed every few weeks. Morkipoos do need their teeth brushed daily, as well as their ears checked weekly. They are usually 6-10 inches high and normally weigh 4-12 pounds. They are generally a very healthy breed but can suffer from dental issues, and glaucoma. However, with routine veterinary visits and proper care they should live long and happy lives.
